Laser Courses for Ophthalmic Healthcare Professionals

The Wales Laser Eye Course is designed for optometrists, orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses, and budding ophthalmic trainees. The course covers three key laser procedures:

YAG Capsulotomy

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT)

YAG Peripheral Iridotomy (PI)

This course provides a practical and safe introduction to ophthalmic lasers, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on simulation to help participants understand laser principles, practice techniques safely, and refine their skills.

Course Structure

Interactive Learning

Online lectures cover laser physics, indications, patient consent, step-by-step procedures, post-laser management, and complications. Short online assessments are included.

Simulation Training

Certification

Participants receive a certificate of participation and a competency pack, which can be used as a reference for local in-vivo training if desired
